The new chassis

Well, after getting the beast home and having a good crawl underneath it, it was clear that the vendor’s view of a small amount of rust and my view were a bit different.

Both drop irons were rusted out – the passenger side was missing almost entirely. The firewall had some very large holes in it. The outriggers were completely rusted out.

This wasn’t looking good.

Then, as Providence would have it, an ad came up on ebay.

A completely rebuilt chassis, sandblasted and powder coated, ready to go in. Wonderful! This was the way to go, so I bought it.
