The engine story

A horrible story . . .

I took the engine down to Land Vehicle Spares for a good lookover and repair where it was required - have a look back at ..\927_mechanicalrepairs to see the start of this story, way back in May.

It turned out that the block was not repairable, or at least not at any bearable cost.

It was a very early model block, and the shells for the main bearings weren’t available.

Short answer – find another block, refurbish that one, get the head done, and we’ve got a virtually new engine.
